About

San Miguelito

Family-owned since 1973 and receiving wildlife guests since 2014, San Miguelito Jaguar Conservation Ranch is one of Bolivia’s top wildlife and birding destinations.

Located in the wetlands and forests east of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the ranch protects over 70 species of mammals registered by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and almost 400 bird species registered on eBird.

San Miguelito was the only Panthera pilot ranch model in Bolivia dedicated to promoting coexistence between livestock and jaguars. Through sustainable ranching, mixed herds, water buffalo management, and a strict no-hunting policy since 1988, the ranch has successfully gone more than three years without jaguar attacks on livestock.

Our mission is to demonstrate that wildlife conservation, sustainable production, and ecotourism can successfully coexist in one of Bolivia’s most biodiverse landscapes.
